The ebook begins with a short but thought-provoking essay on how we perceive “method” in mentalism and how much of a method we can dispose of whilst still retaining the original, intended effect with all the impact.
“Tarot Des Fleurs” is a routine that uses tarot cards but can be substituted for playing cards, ESP cards, photographs, business cards, etc. Completely hands-off (you never touch anything, EVER), and with ZERO setup or preparation of any kind, Tarot Des Fleurs looks like the work of pure intuition! After your spectator has shuffled the cards and selected one, not only can you provide them with a detailed reading, but you can also reveal the exact card they are holding. All wrapped up in a beautiful presentation themed around the classic “she loves me, she loves me not” flower game. Tarot De Fleurs is extremely easy to do (all you have to do is talk), and it can be instantly repeated.
“Dealing With Ghosts” uses the same concept as the previous routine, but the effect is completely different! Imagine this: You take a small amount of business cards and write a name on each one. These are the names of dead loved ones provided by audience members. Again, you could have a spectator write these so that you never have to touch anything, ever. Moments later, the mini seance begins and a spirit is silently called forwards by one of the cards being selected. No markings of any kind, you could even be blindfolded during the entire process. Suddenly, you make a connection, and you can reveal the name of the selected spirit! After this, you begin to provide a reading based on what you sense about this person! Once again, this routine requires absolutely no setup or preparation of any kind. Dealing With Ghosts is followed by a brief word on ethics, and a presentational idea for if you do not wish to use the real names of dead people. This, too, is extremely easy to perform and can serve as a stand-alone demonstration of spirit contact or clairvoyance.
“Metaphysical Alphabet” This is his wonderfully clever take on an established principle (building on the works of Ken De Courcy and Richard Webster). A beautiful reading system and flexible structure that you can begin using right away! It can be used by itself as a reading system, with no scripts to memorize, or it can be used to enhance the routines in this ebook, as well as existing routines in your repertoire! If you like doing readings, you will love this. It can even be used alongside other similar systems that you may already be using.

Des Fleurs is a fantastic set of routines, the first two methods discussed in this ebook, revolve around a well known yet extremely disguised principle in card magic. However, he has routined this method especially in Tarot des fleurs and Ghost in such as way that the method is second to the presentation. Lewis’s process in this manuscript allows for little methodology, and more presentation. His first discussion in this ebook, he discusses the difference between method hunters vs effect seekers and the positive and negatives of each, and which he prefers. Lewis also brings up some really strong points about looking into the past to help develop your future as a performer. He speaks to how people always want the newest and the best, but don’t study the classic or long forgotten methods. Within this manuscript he strips away all the excessive methods to create a truly intuitive and well thought out routine. The last effect in the ebook is more of a reading system system revolving around Ken De Courcy’s A-Z reading system. This reading system is highly intuitive and really allows for you to use your people skills to really give a good reading, rather than using lots of rote memory. This is a very awesome manuscript and well with the cost even if it is not on sale. Thanks for this release
I quite enjoyed this release. I tend to agree with Val's sentiments about method hunters vs. effect seekers. The effects here are very lovely little bits.
Having retired from professional performing now, this is exactly the sort of stuff I enjoy these days; bite-sized effects that one can do in just a few moments time and create a lovely little moment. There's nothing new here in terms of methods, but who cares? The effect here is a pleasant tasteful thing and one that suits my needs perfectly. I think it will suit others' needs as well. The easiest way to describe this would be to say that it is "mature material". That should be self-explanatory.
I use the A-Z system quite a lot and it really should be in the hands of every serious Mentalist. As great as it is, I've always wanted to customize the words to better suit my needs. Well, now I don't have to...Val perfectly captured the essence and direction I would have went with that...If I'd ever gotten around to actually doing so myself. All in all, really, you can't go wrong for the price and for material which you can put to use immediately. Those of you who read the method and dismiss it are missing the point entirely. Recommended.
I have been distributing the world's most exclusive mentalism products for more than 10 years.
I have worked with Peter Turner, Luke Jermay, Fraser Parker, Andrew Gerard, Matt Mello and many many more...
I can confidently say that Lewis Le Val is my favorite mentalism author alive. Des Fleurs is another master piece by himself.
“Dealing With Ghosts” went directly to my close-up repertoire, this is kind a of full billet peek that requires no sleight of hand or prior preparation...just a perfect choreography.
