Luke Jermay throughout this audio file gave some fantastic information on the subject of disclaimers. He covers in about 30 minutes of the audio file what they are used for and the positives and negatives of using them. Luke speaks of his history and why he used disclaimers early on in his performances. While this is something that he hesitates to use anymore he definitely explains in great detail as to why he takes the stance that he does. He has put a great deal of thought into his performances and well as creating a really strong character that tries to avoid these pitfalls. This material is really great and is well worth a listen and is something I will go back to regularly for perspective.
