Here is a miraculous, "test conditions" billet reading method that is both fiendishly clever and imminently practical. Leave it to the fertile brain of Bob Nelson to develop a billet test as good as this!

Sitter writes any question on a slip of paper and folds it tightly. He drops this into a glass. Sitter then takes his own handkerchief and places the same over the mouth of the glass. A rubber band is used to snap around the glass and hold the handkerchief in place. The glass containing the billet is left standing on the table throughout the test. 

The performer picks up an unprepared pad and pencil that have been on the table and proceeds to get an impression, writing down the answer to the question! 

After the question is answered, the sitter himself removes the handkerchief from the glass and, taking the billet, opens and verifies it as O. K.! 

Remember that the sitter may write the question on his own paper and bring it from home if he cares to. There is only one billet used and no switches or dummies used at any time, before, during, or after the test. This is not an impression method of any kind. 

This can be done with two people at one time and both billets placed in the glass together. The performer answers them both, one after the other, and all are returned and examined by the sitters themselves.
